Background

The Bio-IT showcase is an opportunity for life sciences informatics companies to showcase their offerings, bringing together appropriate solutions to an industry which is seeking to reverse falling R&D productivity, despite a growing global annual R&D budget of $88bn and an extending drug development lifecycle currently about 17 years.

As R&D based organisations try to achieve best value from their drug discovery and development operations, it is crucial that Bio-IT solutions providers maintain maximum contact with their corporate customer base.

This showcase was previously called the "Discovery Informatics Forum", under the UK Bioinformatics Forum branding and network which is organised by OBN. In previous years as a stand alone event over 100 delegates took part in the company showcase, networking and partnering elements to this track.

About the Selection Process

An informed decision will be made based upon information supplied by companies, as well as business intelligence which OBN has gathered through research. Companies who are not selected to present are encouraged to participate in the one-to-one partnering elements of the meeting for the purposes of business development.
