The BioDundee partnership aims to promote the growth of life sciences in the Dundee area, and to provide a platform for collaboration across the various disciplines that exist within the City.
Bionow is a cluster organisation funded and operated from within the Northwest Regional Development Agency. Bionow has been in existence since 2000 and in this time has seen the cluster grow substantislly with a 61% increase in companies, a 25% increase in jobs and more than £300m of inverstment raised by incubator companies in the period 2002-2008.
We are committed to the strategic development and growth of businesses in the Biomedical sector and aim to achieve this by providing support infrastructure and services that ensure that the Northwest is a premier location for the Biomedical community.
The cluster is primarily concerned with business operating in the following core areas in the Northwest of England: Biotech and Pharmaceutical; CRO, CMO, Diagnostics and Analytics; Medical Device and Healthcare. However we also appreciate the contributions and needs of the large number of support organisations and companies (Equipment, Legal, Financial, Accomodation) that interface with and support the core companies.
BiotechEast provides a range of online and offline services to the life science community, both overseas and in Taiwan. BiotechEast provides up-to-date industry news and analysis, company information and profiles, upcoming events, and details of government, educational and private sector research institutes. In addition to biotech and pharmaceutical firms, the Companies section includes contact information and more for Chinese medicine companies, pharmaceutical trading companies, medical equipment suppliers and Taiwan's major biotechnology investors.
HealthTech & Medicines Knowledge Transfer Network (KTN)
The HealthTech & Medicines KTN is dedicated to advancing the UK's human health life sciences sector, through knowledge transfer, innovation and building powerful networks of forward thinking organisations in priority areas such as medicines, medical devices, diagnostics, regenerative medicine, associated bioprocessing and convergence. The KTN is able to operate at a strategic level, liaising with relevant government departments and trade associations to enable a better climate for innovating in the UK, and supports groups or individual businesses to access the knowledge and resources needed to move innovations forward.

myM-link is a membership organisation providing commercial support and assistance to companies involved in the life sciences sector in the UK. We provide market intelligence via our monthly Bulletins service on a range of sector related topics; provide commercial opportunities for the supply of our member's goods and services into the public and private sectors, and we offer our members free or subsidised places at myM-link events throughout the year. We also proactively provide introductions to companies and organisations with which our members would like to do business via our Link Up service.
Nexxus connects, communicates and informs life sciences in Scotland. It promotes and supports research excellence, innovation and knowledge exchange, and its strong network enables it to easily facilitate connections with world leading Scottish Universities and Institutes, potential partner companies and other life science organisations. Through its regular networking events, effective PR and Annual Life Science Awards, Nexxus also helps to raise the profile of life sciences in Scotland within the media, the Scottish Parliament and in the wider business, public and academic communities.
NZBIO is the national peak body representing the bioscience based industries of New Zealand. In 2008, a deliberate move towards the emerging international dialogue on referring to a bioeconomy was adopted, with NZBIO now operating under the tagline "Creating a Sustainable Bioeconomy in New Zealand". NZBIO's role is as an enabling body that undertakes to deliver value to its members, stakeholders and the broader industry. Therefore, as an organisation, the strategic imperatives of NZBIO are: To understand & enhance the value proposition for existing and potential members; To run a successful national conference and nation-wide events programme; To build a strong and effective relationship with Government Agencies; To achieve long term sustainability.
SBA intends to secure the position to which biotechnology SMU's will be entitled now and in future. Focus is on: Support to create the conditions in biotechnology appropriate for SMU; Continue the awareness program to reduce the fear connected with modern biotechnology; Intensify research-related communication between universities and the biotech industry; Promotion of the opportunities attached to professional careers in science and biotechnology sector; Integration of the Swiss Biotech Industry on the national level, on European level and on the global level.
The Thames Valley Life Sciences Network aims to promote and stimulate innovation and enterprise in the Life Sciences and Healthcare industries throughout the Thames Valley. Businesses and organisations of all sizes come together through TVLSN to share the latest research and technologies and maximise opportunities for growth in the sector. TVLSN hosts regular networking events focusing on Life Science topics together with a series of half and one day meetings. TVLSN is part of the Thames Valley Innovation and Growth Team that provides support for high growth, innovative businesses.
